Olwethu's dream is to become a fashioin designer

Olwethu

Meet Olwethu, a 4 year old girl who hopes to one day become a fashion designer so that she can make the whole world beautiful.

Olwethu was diagnosed with retinoblastoma (cancer of the eye) 6 months before her 4th birthday. Her mom, Siphiwe, did the right thing and acted quickly to get Olwethu into treatment. She underwent 6 months of chemotherapy bravely and even though she lost an eye during that time, she is now in remission!

Cupcakes of Hope stepped in to help during this difficult time for the family. The biggest obstacle was getting Olwethu to and from the hospital for her chemotherapy sessions, and the provision of transport money was a huge help. They also assisted by buying nappies.

These days Olwethu loves visiting her friends at crèche and one of her favourite activities is showing off her moves on the netball court. Her mom had this to say: “To Cupcakes of Hope, I’d like to thank every one of you who supported us in this difficult time.”

Thanks to your support for our Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer donation drives, they are able to help little kids like Olwethu achieve their dreams. So make sure you purchase a Giant Muffin at any Mugg & Bean in September and we’ll donate R5 to this worthy cause.
